Audacity This is a free source to add audio to your multimedia. You can edit it and it works on both Windows and Mac.
AudioBoo: This is an audio tool and is a simple way of recording audio while on the move and adding as much useful data to it as possible, such as photos, tags and location. AudioBoos can be private or public! You can automatically post to Twitter and Facebook.
AudioPal: This tool allows you to add audio to your blog, website, or any social network page. Many voices to choose from in the menu. It is free!
Aviary is a free audio mixing tool. You can add multiple tracks, edit, and add cool effects. You can store online and on your computer. (You can also edit image color, effects, and vectors!)
Chirps: This is an extension from Twitter. It allows you to tweet sounds and your voice. You just need a microphone or use your phone to add your voice!
Fotobabble is a talking photo. You can add your voice to any photo and share to Facebook and Twitter. It also gives you a link and embed code to share.
GarageBand is a software product produced for Mac OS as part of the iLife suite (usually included in your initial purchase). You can record audio, play virtual instruments, make music, and even take music lessons.
iSpeech: The free version converts text to audio instantly, without any experience and without any software. You are limited to 1 minute in the free version. Files can be embedded anywhere on the Web and shared quickly and easily. There is an automatic button you can use to integrate iSpeech in a WordPress.org blogs but not a WordPress.com blogs. This service is free!
Newgrounds is an audio portal that is royalty free. You can create music and download tracks.
Songsmith: This tool is for all the music lovers out there. You can create your own music with your voice using this tool. This is free for teachers. You can create a video or just audio. It is very easy to use. This is a great way to encourage creative learning!
VoiceThread is a collaborative, multimedia slide show that holds images, documents, and videos and allows people to navigate slides and leave comments in 5 different ways- using voice (with a mic or telephone), text, audio file, or video (via a webcam).
